Aldrin Valdez interviews painter Michael Voss. Voss says of his work: "One key thing that I’m interested in is some form of simplicity… Simplicity is something that you approach, that’s fleeting, that moves. I’m very drawn to the moment when actually something simple starts to become complicated… I sometimes think of [my paintings], too, as sort of little biotopes, an environment. There’s something living in them, something working… I’m trying to make a painting every time, not working on variations of something."
