Danielle Sommer argues that two simultaneous exhibitions at the Berkeley Art Museum Abstract Then and Abstract Now (on view through April 17, 2011) would enrich each other if combined. Most of the works in Abstract Now – which appears to be the weaker sibling – could have been complicated by juxtaposing them with the works of their predecessors."
